【摘要】:1.1Sustainabiltyhasthreetypesofgeneralprinciples:environmental,economic,andsocial.Thisguidecoversthefundamentalconceptsandassociatedbuildingcharacteristicsforeachofthegeneralprinciplesofsustainability.1.2Thisguidedistinguishesbetweenidealsustainabilityandappliedsustainability.Ideally,humanactivitieswouldnotrequiremakingtrade-offsamongenvironmental,economic,andsocialgoals.However,thisguiderecognizesthat,inapplyingsustainabilityprinciplestobuildings,decisionmakersmustoftenbalanceopportunitiesandchallengesassociatedwitheachofthegeneralprinciples.1.3Thisguideidentifiesgeneralmethodologiesassociatedwiththedecision-makingprocessusedinpursuingsustainability.1.4Thisguideaddressesbuildingsindividuallyandinaggregate(collectively).1.4.1Thegeneralprinciplesidentifiedinthisguideareapplicabletoallscalesofbuildingprojects,including:interiorspaces,individualbuildingsandgroupsofbuildings,infrastructuresystems,andlanduse.1.4.2Thegeneralprinciplesidentifiedinthisguideareapplicabletoalllife-cyclestagesofabuildinganditscomponents,including:materialextraction,productmanufacturing,producttransportation,planning,siting,design,specification,construction,operation,maintenance,renovation,retrofit,reuse,deconstruction,andwastedisposalofbuildings.1.5Avarietyoftoolsandstandardsexistthatqualifyandquantifyimpactsofbuildings,buildingmaterials,andbuildingmethodsintermsofoneormoreofthegeneralprinciplesofsustainability.Itisnotwithinthescopeofthisstandardtorecreateorreplacethesetools.1.6Thisguidedoesnotprovidedirectionastothespecificimplementationofthegeneralprinciples;nordoesitprovidedirectionastothespecificweightingofprinciplesnecessaryforachievingbalance.1.7Implementationofthisguidewillrequireprofessionaljudgment.Suchjudgmentshouldbeinformedbyexperiencewithenvironmental,economic,andsocialissuesasappropriatetothebuildinguse,type,scale,andlocation.1.8Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaprojectsmanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
